Experience

 

 1990-present, Consultant, Power Project Financing, San Anselmo, CA.  Selected clients and assignments include:

 

·    GAMESA Energía.  Advised on financial structuring, finding equity tax partner, power sales contract with Commonwealth Edison, Green Tag contract with the City of Chicago.

·    Wind Harvest Company.  Advised on business plan and investment solicitation documents, negotiating equity investments, negotiating equipment manufacturing arrangements for Canada, Mexico, Scotland and Pakistan. 

·    Sacramento Municipal Utility District.  Subcontractor to Black and Veatch, for advising on incentive frameworks to promote renewable energy.   

·    California Energy Commission.  Advised on financing international renewable energy projects to benefit California companies.  Wrote guides for financing and developing renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in China and Mexico.

·    California Public Utilities Commission, Senior Financial Consultant on a performance audit of the energy efficiency measures undertaken pursuant to California law SBX1 5.

·    SIIF Energies (now EdF).  Advised on wind power projects that received equity funding commitments for projects in Turkey, Greece, Hawaii, and Mexico.   

 

1999-2001, Senior Financial Advisor, Deloitte Touche Tohamatsu, Emerging Markets Group, Washington, DC.   Chief of Party for advisory projects regarding privatization of power distribution and generation assets in India and Moldova.

 

1995 to 1999, Senior Financial Advisor, Hagler Bailly Consulting, Washington, D.C.   Senior Financial Advisor for private power generation and assistance to international developers of independent power projects such as hydroelectric and biomass-fueled projects.  

 

1984-1990, Vice President, Cogeneration Capital Associates, Richmond, CA.  Provided financial placement, advisory, and analytical services on $850 million of power projects and corporate financing.   Responsible for writing offering documents, complex financial modeling involving partnership accounting, tax structuring, splits and flips. 

 

1982-1984, Managing Director, Abrahamsen & Company, Hoboken, NJ.   Co-founded Abrahamsen & Company, a specialty financial software and consulting firm serving more than 60 New York investment banks, commercial banks, law firms, and institutional investors.   Abrahamsen & Company was acquired by the Securities Data Corporation in 1984.

 

1979-1982, Member, Corporate Finance Dept., First Boston Corporation, New York, NY.  Responsible for financial analysis and computer modeling to support corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and project finance.   Specialist in quantitative support of new financing modalities such as deep-discount bonds, defeasance, and debt/equity swaps.
